Ok, i'm already in my planning phase for next year. I need to know if a Oklahoma group will be going to MOAB next year and if so, when and how can I get onboard

Thanks

What is the legality of driving down the big powerline clearings or paths? I always look down them and think it would be cool to see how far you could make it down one.

I'll let you know if we plan a trip to Moab next year - I'm pretty sure we will make a trip during summer vacation - not sure if it'll be to Moab or a different place. Have been thinking of a trip to Yellowstone as well. Mark just left for Moab today - you could've joined him.

Probably not a good idea - not sure about the legality, but I'm sure the section/patch of land is owned by the power companies. But there is a place in Braggs, OK that has a wheeling spot close to the river, right beside which there is the same clear path for the power lines and I know people wheel there.

Thanks for throwing out the different options on the mirrors. I think I'm leaning to the CJ style like interceptor I dig those.

Mark

I know you are going to be driving this way. Here is a link to all the AZ fire info and some that concerns NM. If you need help finding anything out, let me know.

http://www.azsf.az.gov/

The Wallow fire down south has jumped yet another highway and is taking neighborhoods and homes down there. We are at the point here where there is no we talk to that isn't affected by the fires. We have nurses and friends who have lost homes. Ft. Huachuca Army Base has opened its empty barracks to people, but the fire looks like it's heading that way, also. Unrelated to AZ, a friend of mine in Wisconsin had a house fire. All that matters is everyone, kids, wife, are all ok.

It certainly humbles a person...and makes them count the blessings they have.

So are you talking about running trails each day and coming back to civilization each night, or staying out?

I would budget about $1500-2000 for this. It is basically a six or seven day trip with three or four nights on the trail and the rest in hotels (camping and not eating in restaurants whole trip would lower cost). That figure includes about 800 - 1000 for gas.
