The Wallow fire down south has jumped yet another highway and is taking neighborhoods and homes down there. We are at the point here where there is no we talk to that isn't affected by the fires. We have nurses and friends who have lost homes. Ft. Huachuca Army Base has opened its empty barracks to people, but the fire looks like it's heading that way, also. Unrelated to AZ, a friend of mine in Wisconsin had a house fire. All that matters is everyone, kids, wife, are all ok.

It certainly humbles a person...and makes them count the blessings they have.
Thanks, Love Monkey. I changed my route because of the fires. I'm in Bernallilo for a couple days just hanging out, then will head to Moab Tuesday.

It is a 137 (or so) mile trail. We will spend three or four days on it--some limited technical, but mostly overlanding/expedition.

Sounds good. Just curious about bringing to boy. He would be a little young for that big of a stretch. Sounds like a great experience.

Big trip is tomorrow. Tomorrow night i will be in Denver, rest of the time in Winter Park. Hope the jeep does well in high altitudes. Put a K&N drop in filter to help on the highway. Around a 12 hour drive tomorrow with no cruise control. we will see how that goes! haha

Let me be the first one to say having cruise control helps when you're not at altitude, but once you get past Texas and into Colorado, cruise control is almost pointless.
yeah, i am shooting up I-35 to 70 around Salina, Kansas...so it would have been nice through kansas. But I will post up pictures after I get internet running up there and get some good ones!
