Meh i already worked today/yesterday whatever it is now. I'm salary i make my money anyway .

Good to come in on graveyard and hang out on the shift i grew up on. Just wish i had a little more notice.

Was tearin stuff up on black ops. I literally had 3 care packages stolen right from under me while i was on the phone with the person calling in. That didn't help me stay calm. I lub my care packages.

On another note... Is stillwater still a go for this sunday? I'm heading out there to pick up some tires. I'm concerned with fitting 5 tires in my 2 door jk on the way home. Would be nice if i could stow away a couple Interceptor if he's still planning on going! :P

I am. Mine won't be available until I can get a date for Screamin' Lizard to do my gears, and that's been a challenge all its own. Once I change them, I plan to keep the stockers as trail spares. But, if it meant that Jason could be up and running more quickly, maybe we could work something out. Still, might be quicker to check the For Sale sub-forum.

I did some research on those and to make it short, David recommends the RCVs and WOL says the RCVs run the risk, because they are so strong, of pushing any future breakage inside of the differential (versus at the much more easily repaired U-joints). Since I'm also running a D30, I opted for the Superior Chromolly axles.

I was up, but for some reason headed to FB first. LOL. So, it took until 5 a.m. for me to see this thread. I clicked on it and was taken to like page 113 or some such. I paused, scratched my head, and thought, "What the heck? Weren't we on page 89 yesterday?" So, I apologize if my answers to some of the questions were 20 pages too late and/or previously answered by other participants.

What you should do is come up when we change Manoj's driveshaft and you'll learn all about U-joints.

I appreciate the thought, but after much thought I think just buying new is going to get me up and running quicker. I am glad to hear you planned on keeping yours anyway.

You know, I slept on this all night.
I ended up coming to the same conclusion.

I think the Chromolly axles just make more sense to me at the moment. Like you said, the u-joint acts as a sacrificial element, as opposed to my diff... Plus, they are a LOT cheaper.

You know, my dryer died last month, as did my toaster and wireless router. This month my axle got toasted.... Holy cow, I can't wait for next month... But I might as well save ever penny I can for it, cuz it ain't goin' be cheap

At least that was the thought running through my head as I feel asleep last night.

Still no set date? WOW . When I'd mentioned to Sean on the phone that you were waiting to hear from him, he'd said something like 3rd week of February or something to that effect; figured you guys already had a date lined out

I'm still debating that. Going to talk to TORN (Jeff) here when I see him online or send him a text message to see how it looks like up there. Considering it's already Thursday, we do need to figure out if it'll be doable or not, if not, reschedule for another date. On the bright side, we are supposed to have the sun out soon and temps in the mid 40s - 50s for the next couple of days - through Sunday, before more snow comes in sometime Monday/Tuesday. But if it's a go, you're welcome to stow all 5 of those tires in my JK if you want. I've carried all 5 of my Bridgestone Duelers in there when I sold 'em .

Almost everyone I've talked to about the RCVs have had nothing but good stuff to say about the RCVs. But in the case of a D30, WOL is right - in that, it'll just shift the weak link elsewhere, and that elsewhere (especially with 5.13s in a D30) will end up being the R&P. I think after much research and thought, I've decided to go with a Pro Rock 44 when the time comes . If I were to build up the D30, I'll have around $1,500 - $1,800 between lockers, sleeves, axle shafts, etc. anyways. Makes it easier to justify the step up to PR44s.

Technically, it's the JK's driveshaft being changed

I heard good things happen in 3s. Didn't know the same held true for "not-so-good" things too?

I must have been confused. Was it your ball joints that needed changing?

BTW: I'm working on my income taxes, so don't mess with me!
