Carbide... thats what I was trying to think of...

All my metal cutting bits are Hitachi brand Carbide bits... good stuff

But they ain't cheap I think I paid $14 for my 3/4" bit.

I wouldn't spend the money on those sets, unless you really just don't have anything.

I'd buy the individual pieces you need... surely you are just missing a wrench size here or there, right?

Well, most of the wrenches I have are off-brand types, a bunch of which I'm missing. I do have a couple of different sets of sockets - mostly metric. So, in reality, yes I guess I don't really have much by way of tools when it comes down to it.
