Question..... whats the desired load rating for wheeling? Or would it not really matter? i need to figure out what tires im going to go with for sure lol. Ive found some toyos that after shipping would be 330 a piece which isnt too bad but would i have to have an E load rating? I know the E rating is for a heavier vehicle but still... lol

Wouldn't necessarily say that there's a "desired" load range for wheeling but the general theory is this - the higher up on the alphabet the load range, the more ply tire you'd have. For example, a Load Range C tire is a 6-ply, a Load Range D is a 8-ply and a Load Range E is a 10-ply tire. That said, a 10-ply tire will give you a sturdier sidewall than a Load Range C 6-ply tire. However, that also means that when you air down, a sturdier sidewall will have a harder time going over obstacles without breaking. Preferred would be a Load Range D or E - 8-ply or 10-ply. Most larger tires would fall in this category, while more OEM would fall in the Load Range C category. If you want a softer ride, look for a Load Range D, if you don't mind a slightly harsher ride, heavier tire that would offer extra sidewall protection, go with the Load Range E

Awesome that's what I was thinking. Now the next question is .... AEV standard? Or premium? Dave says the prem is the best way to go which I agree but I could always add that later I would think. Hmmm decisions decisions.

Oh also. Superchips or procal? Are the runs worth it?

If you buy an AEV lift, don't you get a free ProCal?

I'd have to agree with Dave on that - if you're going to do it, may as well bite the bullet and do the Premium. It's cheaper to do it right the first time rather than piece it together like I did with my Tera lift.

On the Superchips/Procal question, I have a Hypertech that has worked great for my needs. But between the two you mentioned, I'd go with a Superchips before I'd go with the Procal. However, the Procal does have some nifty features for straightening your steering wheel, etc., but I think the Superchips gives you a LOT more features - it's also a LOT more expensive too - but heck, you're already going for an AEV kit - what's a few more bones in the pot

I was about to say the same to see if you could just have Dave upgrade you to the Superchips.

Just make sure you don't bite too hard - makes it hard to swallow

Hah. I know. Tires is about a third of the total amount lol. I still might just go with the the Procal for now. It would save a few hundred lol.

Do you have any desire to "tune" your engine?

That's the question I asked myself, and came to the answer "no"... That's why I went with the ProCal.
