OK bs
being excited about mods is great , there is nothing like seeing the ups /fed-ex truck pull up and then ripping the box open like a kid on Christmas
I run a 4' wilson Ultra whip antenna , my preference though plus it has a life time warranty .great antenna and around $25.00. flex is unbelieveable

License plate mount but I felt it would be exposed. I think manoj has that set up. Pretty stealthy looking In my opinion. Like I said though the biggest pain was getting the coax and ground wire through the rubber grommet. After that it is cake....
I got the 3 ft so I could pull into may garage without banging it every time. I got the gate mount, it's the L shaped bracket. They have the

Four footers are better for range and are easier to tune over a broader range of CB channels, which might be useful on the highway for getting updates from truckers further out. But, on the trail there's little advantage and plenty of disadvantage for us Okies. Just my thoughts. Of course, it all depends on how much of your antenna is exposed above the vehicle roof line, which depends on its mounting location.
Those firesticks, on the other hand, they'd just snap as your saying.
So, in addition to mounting location, it also depends on what type of antenna you buy. Some materials (like fiberglass) do not take well do being bent.
