personally......I used 2.5 quarts on the rear d44 and 1.75 quarts on the front 30..and no my seals don't leak. When restoring muscle cars we always filled the diff. until the oil ran back out the fill hole

You're not supposed to fit the whole quart in there; just the fluid . The quart bottles get tossed/recycled

It would seem like a whole lot because the fill hole is moved up a little, which would allow for more fluid to be poured in before it starts overflowing. Keep in mind that if you overfill the diff, you'll have a mess come out of the breather hose.

YES!!!! The first couple years in AZ I had a YJ and no top at all. Cranked the heater in the winters and survived. LOL. Suck it up!
