Default Southwest Colorado Trails

Has anyone been to the Ouray, Telluride, Silverton area recently? We are headed there next week and I'm looking for any ideas on must-do trails. I've been on a couple around Silverton last year but not around Telluride or Ouray, I've got the Funtreks Colorado 4wd and backroads book for some ideas, but I don't want to miss anything.

Why are you posting in the Mid-West forum then? Go to the four corners forum. This has been discussed plenty of times. There are also recent updates of trail conditions.

I always left Telluride and did Imogene Pass and Yankee Boy Basin are very scenic and not difficult. Then I liked to come back on Black Bear Pass, which isn't as hard as most make it out to be. Just use your head and be careful on the switchbacks.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to trying out both of those.

Because occasionally people from the mid-west forum go there and I have ran into people from this group, so I was also putting it out to see if anyone else will be in the area or maybe just got back. I've read the four corners forum, but thanks for pointing it out.

Just got back on Saturday. All of the trails are open. There is a lot of snow at top of Imogene, but is plowed open. The alpine loop is fun (Engineer & Cinnamon passes). An easy scenic trail that we saw herds of Elk was Last Dollar Road.
