Default SWR meter - St Louis

I'm installing a CB and I'm going to need to tune my antenna soon. Can anybody tell me where i could buy a SWR meter? I've found several online, but i don't want to pay $25-30 AND pay $10 for shipping.

Thanks in advance!

You really dont need one. If you hit up one of your local cb shops they will usually do it. A local shop did mine for 5bucks

I tried 4 different Radio Shacks in my area, none of them carry CB stuff anymore and none of them could tell me of one that still did. I've even tried a couple of truck stops.

I tried to look up CB shops in my area and I'm coming up dry.

I've found a couple that are 45 minutes to an hour drive from my house. Unfortunately, neither of them is answering their phone, and I'd rather not drive all that way to find out they've closed up shop.

So I figured I would ask the experts.

I have one you can use if you want to meet up. I should be going to this pop up run at washita on the 14th of August. If you wanted to go I could bring it along to get you dialed in.

It is recommended. You could damage your CB is your swr is high and you could be giving alot of squelch and no one would here you.

Thanks for the offer. I ended up buying one online from Walcott CB. I never did get an answer from either one of the local "CB shops". It makes me wonder if they're even still open.

No problem. I can't stress how important grounding is, when I took my first SWR reading is was off the charts but a couple of proper grounds have brought it in spec. If you have any questions fell free to ask.
