$1000 to spend....
$500 for a BB and use the other $500 for gas. Or just save the money and afford gas. Personally, I love my jeep with all of the mods. The few mpg drop that I have seen is worth it to me and I drive 110 miles a day to work.
These guys really aren't trying to be pricks. There isn't much you can do to improve the mileage. I've got a SC Flashpaq on our 2010 and short of a little better throttle response it didn't do much. I've had vehicles that benefited greatly headers, mufflers, exhaust, tuners, and the like but too many people on here have tried them with marginal results. I just picked up an Expedition One Basic DX bumper and wings with a Warn M8000 winch for just under $1000. I think it'll be under $900 with my rebate. Jeep Happy!
The only way to get good gas mileage out of your jeep is for one keep stock. I don't think its worth the money to buy the intake, exhaust, tuner ect. Because you will only gain slight mpg if any. If you are going to lift it and put bigger tires on it then you will just have to learn to deal with the mpg your get. I just don't even think of how much it cost to fill the tank because I need the gas regardless that's how we are getting screwed on gas prices in the first place.
I have the flashpaq and saw no change with as mileage after programming the jeep. I do think I see a bit more throttle response but that may be in my head. I would not buy another one.
Now THIS is the discussion I wanted. Not how to turn a manly Jeep into a pansy prius, but how to make an all around great vehicle that is great for all. A jeep is not made for great MPG but that doesn't mean u can't add horsepower which works both on and off road. I love it, by the way I'm off work this week riding the beach up and down. Life is good in the Jeep!!! Long live Jeep!
At least you are coming around in your last post. Add mods for increased power/driveability, any small mpg gains you see are a pleasant bonus.
