Default $25.00 Coil-over shocks???

So i was browsing carparts-dot-com and I found these "ride control helpers"

carparts.com/autoparts/Product/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2005874/c-10618/Nty-1/p-2005874/Ntx-mode+matchallpartial/N-10618/tf-Browse/s-10401/Ntk-AllTextSearchGroup?Ntt=shock+helper

and I was wondering if

1) anyone has ever used them
2) if they would work with aftermarket shocks that don't have "dust covers". I am thinking that they attach to the shock body and I was not sure whether they would attach to the top of our shocks since they are just piston rod and post.
3) if they will not attach to the top, whether I could just sag the suspension til the shocks were maxed out and then attach the coil to the shock body and have it contacting the top shock mount area.

So what do you all think? I was thinking that they would look great and could help with the added weight of a winch and heavy steel bumper on the front. Anyone know the diameter of skyjacker nitro 8000s? They are made by munroe and rebadged by alot of suspension companies.

Look like they may come in handy for towing or long trips with a fully loaded JK. I wouldnt run them daily though.

I don't know of anywhere to run here. I go to school out in Roanoke and I do most of my trail-riding out there. Once I get my LoD rock sliders and smittybilt comp winch delivered and on I am planning on making a run out to dictum's in GWNF or go do Potts mountain jeep trail. Also, a member of the 4x4 club I am in out in roanoke, owns Crozet so I am thinking about going up there sometime. There is also stoney run and shoe creek which is up close to stauton/steele's tavern.

Do you know of any good places around here? I am always trying to find some good riding areas around here but I can't find any, I just ride around my house and some powerlines down the road from here, which is nothing compared to Potts or any of the trails out in the mountains.

Back to the springs, I was thinking that they might help level out the front due to the 100+ lb bumper and the 60+ lb winch, I am also planning on making a recovery box to take up the entire back of the jeep where the folding seat was (2door) and mount my spare and hi-lift and all of my trail gear in and on it so I figured these would help with any sag due to that load.

My biggest question is whether these would work with aftermarket shocks. the stock shocks have the "dust covers" but all aftermarket shocks like the ones I have are just cylinder and piston and I didn't know if these would attach to the upper stud on the top of the front shocks. Even if they don't work like I am hoping, I still might put these on because I think they would look nice and they are only 25 dollars a pair :-)

lets BUMP this back up

I have seen these before on a buggy some guy made for his children and they looked pretty sweet.

Just wondering if there is going to be anyway to mount them onto aftermarket shocks? And for 25$ a pair, you can't beat that, if only for the looks department

Those places you mentioned in the Shenandoah are the only places I know of to wheel (LEGALLY). I've heard of, and been involved in, some bad scenes with powerlines & gas lines! I can't afford the trouble, but then, I can't afford the gas to get out past Charlottesville, either!

If you look on JF, under vids, there's a guy's walkthrough of an 88 TJ he swapped an LS1 into. It has what looks like those coil-overs, if you're just curious how they look. That dude went ALL OUT--it'll blow your mind (except it's an automatic!)
