Default 08 Mirror relocation brackets?

I purchased a set of brackets from Rugged Ridge that would move my mirrors from the door to the windsheild frame, well they came in today and I attempted to put them on but they would not work and ended up looking like crap. When I mounted them they were very crooked and the factory mirror bolts would not work with the brackets. I was very disappointed with the quality and engineering of these pieces, so can someone tell me who else might make some relocation brackets for the new jk?

yuo are like 1 out of 500 people who have had problems with these...too bad that there arnt really any other options...so u just have to do what everyone else did and grind, twist, modify the brakets until they work or someelse makes somehting better...there are pleanty of creative options if you do a search.

Just installed mine last weekend. Also very disappointed. The thread on the bolts is incorrect so hopefully you figured that out before you tried to force them in. I just reused the same bolts for the bracket and since the doors are off I said forget it to the circular metal plates for the doors. As long as I don’t get a ticket I will deal with them.

That's the same issue I had with the circular plates, so i'm going to go over to ace hardware to see which bolts do fit it, and as far as the brackets go I will take them over to my local welder and have him cut and bend the brackets down about an inch so that the mirrors will sit level.

Well I don’t have my Jeep yet but I know that I found some mirrors at the website for Trail Duty (I am aloud to post a websites name like this right?) that connect to the door hinge that I’ll be buying before my Jeep comes in. They don’t look the best but they look real easy to put on and take off and you don’t need to take the stock mirrors off the doors and put that ugly circular patch on. Just my - KY

Called Rugged Ridge and this is the short of my conversation.

Instructions are not correct: They stated to use the original bolts, you remove from the window retainer, on the outside relocation bracket top and bottom and to use the 4 chrome bolts, they proivide, for the filler bracket.

The chrome bolts are 5/16 - 18. The original inside bracket bolts are 8 x 1.25 mm.

Rugged Ridge claims they will post revised instructions on their website as soon as possible and thanked me fro bringing it to their attention.

Hope this helps.

i like the mopar bracket as weel and it comes with the mirror so you do not have to remove it from the door.
