Default 08 Sahara Unlimited

I'm new to the forum and need some advise on lift kit and tires for my 08 Sahara Unlimited. I want to do a suspension lift and new wheels/tires. I want to improve the overall look with some height and rubber and want it to still be driveable. I'm torn whether to go with 12.50 x 35's or 12.50 x 33's. I love the look of the 35's and it seems most people are going this route. I'm just not sure of how it handles and performs with the 35's. Does it become high maintenance after going with 4" lift and 35's? I have not been able to see one in person that has been done and reeally wish I could...I would appreciate any advice you might offer on this. thanks!
PS I do mostly road and highway driving and will do little off road and some limited sand.

There are a lot of good threads on here about lifts, Type in 2.5 , 3 or 4 inch lift in the search box at the top of the page. you will find many that will be helpful.. I have a 2008 sahara 2 door redrock.. Im still waiting on my 3 inch Black Diamond lift to arrive, with 35x12.50 17s. Cant wait.. Black Diamond rated very high in the Petersens 4WHEEL & OFF ROAD magazine Suspension shootout.. Rated ALmost #1 In every Test.. CHECK IT OUT.

I also have on 08 Sahara Unlimited. here is what I am getting done.

Full Tracktion 3" Ultimate lift (arrives this week)
Shrockworks Front Bumber should arrive mid May and rear Bumper (well I am on the wait list for the rear tire carrier bumper)

Mickey Thompson LT315 /75R16 Baja MTZ radials
The only thing I cannot decide just yet are the wheels.
I am leaning towards the Pro Comp 8089's in Gloss Black.

After reading here and asking questions and reading in general on some other sites this is what I have decided to do. As soon as these majoe changes start happening I will be taking and posting pic's.

Welcome to the forum! I have an 08 that I just put a TerraFlex 3" lift with both front and rear adjustable track bars and 35's. The biggest issue was with the ESP prematurely activating when driving on winding roads. After de-activating the ESP everything has been great. I took a long time searching a bunch of the threads to find exactly the accessories I would like. Others on the forum have some VERY sweet rigs and you can get a ton of ideas!

I just did a 2.5" TF BB lift and 33" MT ATZ's on my new Sahara 08 Unlimited. I'm very happy with it, although I do have some wandering and handleing issues on the highway, which I'm hoping the track bar re-location bracket will take care of.

I was torn between going with 33" or 35" tires, but because I do so much highway driving, I went with the 33's. I'm glad I did! There is a very noticeable difference in power and it really struggles to keep up while using cruise control. My mileage went from almost 19 average to about 14.
