09 hood insulation... really needed????

I just left mine alone. Weather it keeps heat in, keeps the hood paint from cracking, acts as a fire blanket, blah blah the factory put it there for a reason so until it becomes an issue it will stay.

The main reason those things are put into most vehicles is to dampen out the sound from the engine....seems kinda useless on a JK though, except for maybe diesel versions - maybe it was a misbuild?

Mine is '09 and has it...everybody else's got stolen. Somebody needs to catch the JK hood insulation thief.

M(a)ce got jacked! Maybe hood insulation is the new copper wire or chrome rims (da hood)

X's don't get insulation... as far as I know...


Sahara's do, and rubi's should. I'm not sure it's a heat thing as much as it is a noise thing...
