Default Is 1/4" bad?

I just ordered a JKS adjustable front trackbar for my Jeep. I was reading the installation instructions online, and read how to center the axle. So I went out and checked how it's set now. My axle is shifted to the passenger side 1/4". I'm wondering if thats bad or not to far off? The Jeep does wander a little going down the road, and I was wondering if this is why. I've never experienced the death wabble, but it does wander a little.

no, it's not bad at all and really no big deal. sure, it's nice to have centered axles but them being off that little will not cause any driving issues and certainly not death wobble.

I decided to go adjustables front and rear, even though I only did a 2.5 bb boost. I dialed in both axles and have no wandering, no tail wag on speed bumps and drives as good or better than stock. I was probably anal about the axles but do swear the handling improved over the stock track bars after the 'lil 2.5" lift. I recall my rear being about 3/8" off and about the same on the front with the stock bars.

Check your toe, mine was still right at the recommended 1/16" toe in (stock 32" rubicon tires). I hear any degree of toe out can instigate some wandering and/or wobble. I did have to recenter my steering wheel with a little trial and error.

Good luck on the fix!

If you ever set up race cars you would never abide front or rear being off. Minor handling issues (except at speed, specially on corners) weird wearing in your tires and other minor misc things.

But unless it is excessive or you drive really fast it is not a life threatening issue. Just join all the other crabs you see driving down the road. LOL

unlike the TJ before, the JK tie-rod is not directly connected to the drag link and so toe will not change due to a lift. however, if you hit your tie-rod on a rock and bend it, your toe will definitely be off.
