The only thing I don't like about my 15s is it limits choices for tie rod upgrades.

And if you might be interested in bigger front brakes, believe that they require at least 17" wheels.

I have been running 15" wheels for a few years now. My wallet thanks me all the time and the Jeep doesn't care....so yeah no regrets.

Your options for tires above 35" are limited but there are options.

No regrets here either. Just be mindful when having the wheel/tire balanced that the stick-on weights will rub the caliper if placed too far towards the back of the wheel. That's what I'm currently experiencing (tires were mounted/balanced and sent to me from DTD). Other than making a slight noise, no issues that I've noticed.. Caliper is beginning to wear a groove into the weights so the noise should eventually cease.

x2 on Discount Tire, that's where my rim and tire setup came from.
You will be fine with alloy wheels, but if you try steel rims it will depend on the weld (some may rub and other rims may not).
The tires on a 15 are less than same tires on a 17 - I looked both ways and by the time you buy 'good' spacer pucks the price of a alloy 15" rim with 35's are close to a wash and way easier to rotate, etc.

So you have to buy spacers if you are going with 15's

no you would just get 15's with the correct backspacing. You would need the spacers if you are keeping stock rims but going bigger with the tires.
