I have never heard anyone say that before.
I guess if you're buying steel wheels and toyo's..........
I'd still F up a tire than an expensive wheel....but there is always the spare and a "trail" spare!!

It will depend on the tire size. I'm running 37's at $234 a piece. I can get take-off 17's for $100 each easily. Even if I had wheels that were $150-$200 each, It's would still be cheaper to replace a wheel. I'm not really arguing whether you could save a tire by using a different wheel, just making a point that a lot of people overlook. Compared to tires, a lot of wheels are "cheap" these days.

My rubi came with 17" wheels. when i go to 35" tires, I'm getting 16" wheels. The 17"s are more expensive and I dont like the look of the larger wheels.
