2.5 budget boost
I was wondering if the articulatioin between teraflex's 2.5" bb and the 3" economy lift were the same, If not what is the major difference other than buying parts to make it a flex arm on the 3". I am trying to decide what I should put on mine when I pick it up?
It depends on what your future plans are for your new Jeep.
Are you just looking for a little more height for tire clearance or something you can build on later.
After installing my 2.5" Teraflex and looking at Eddie's write up on the Full Traction system, I don't see a whole lot of difference in articulation. Without doing the math, my guess would be that the 2.5" system has about 1" less articuation since both systems have extended bump stops to limit your up travel. So if you had a CAD system, I guess you could calculate the angle and amount of travel at the wheel.

When you lift via new springs and shocks, you are adding more articulation with height as long as you are also increasing the length of your shocks. Don't fall for the shock-extensions, because they will act as a bumpstop and you will fatigue your shocks prematurely. Remember to increase the length of your bumpstops to keep your tires from contacting the body upon compression as you may damage your tire as well as the body.
I ordered the teraflex 2.5 last night $220 including shipping. I'll let you know how it works out.I want to try to keep that factory ride, theres nothing like it. took it to a OHV park last sat. and I can say this if your still waiting for your jk keep the faith. its worth it.

Adding an extension to the shocks on a 2.5" budget boost is not doing anything more than adding that same 2.5" to the shocks, lowering their perceived mounting point in order to accomodate how far the axle drops out. Otherwise, yes longer shocks would be needed.... but they must be properly chosen so they do not bottom out. Bottoming will damage the shock (and maybe the mounting points in a worst-case scenario).
I think the most limiting factor in FLEX (besides shocks) is the resistance to - and amount of - torsion allowed by the factory bushings. Johnny Joint or similar equiped control arms would allow a little more FLEX.

I put a 2.5 budget lift on my wifes using shock pacers because the shocks were back ordered. it is just fine. Though i think the shocks will wear quicker and will probably put on new ones and eliminate the extenders at that time.

I have installed both the Full Traction 3" Economy lift and the TeraFlex 2.5" BB and can tell you that the TeraFlex bumpstops are longer as required. And, this does limit the amount of stuff your Jeep will be able to have. And, assuming that you have the proper lenght bump stops installed, the use of shock extensions should be just fine.

Mikesjk is that your graystone in the attachment on this thread? If it is, could you please send some bumper pics? I installed the rear mopar, and I really like the front. AEV has not charged my card yet, so I may go with the mopar front and save some money.
