Default 2.5" lift question

Have a 2013 2 door, is it possible to have a 2.5" lift with out messing with drivelines? I would like to have a TF 2.5" coil loft but I keep hearing that I'll need drive lines. Thanks for any help!

Are you talking specifically about drive shafts? If so, the answer is maybe. Talking about caster correction? The answer is maybe. Talking about axle centering? The answer is maybe. Talking about axle gearing? The answer is maybe.

Too many variables involved for any kind of a definite answer. So if you want absolutely no possibility of having to mess with any of that, don't lift.

If you do want to lift, spend time figuring out not only how all of the components work, but how they work together. For instance, a 2.5" BB gives 2.5" of lift. A 2.5" coil could give 3", or 4", or even 5", depending on the specific coil and your specific build. How about 2.5" with the short stock shocks and staying connected? That will prevent the axle from drooping, and will help prolong the life of the driveshaft boots. What about a 2.5" with shocks for a 3-4-5" lift and disconnecting? How far is that axle going to droop, and how much more likely is a pinched driveshaft boot?

I was going to suggest earlier, that the questionable range is 3'' or above.. mainly at or around the 4'' range.. and there is some indecision as to what the jeep can take as for tires with out lifting.. My sources tell me 32''

You dont need to run any lift to run 33" tires. You may require wheel spacers depending on the width of the tire. You can run 35" tires with no lift and cut fenders with wheel spacers. Make sure you make your priorities first. The RK 1.5" kit is really the best option for people that are scared about the amount of lift causing other issues and you can fit 37" tires with cut fenders. You will net about 2 1/2" of lift without armor mods. Most 2.5" lift kits will net 3.5" of lift without armor mods.

You do not need drivelines with any 2.5" coil lift. UNLESS you install a 4DR 2.5" coil kit in your 2DR then you SHOULD replace the front at some point.

You may need to address your front drive shaft, FYI.

You will not need to modify the exhaust either unless you run the 4DR kit. Then you just need a set of exhaust spacers #2610000 $49.99 | TeraFlex Suspensions .
