[QUOTE=planman;1144270]Doesn't matter.

A JK with a 2.5" BB will RTI the same as a 2.5" taller aftermarket spring if the shocks and bumpstops are the same.

A JK with a 2.5" BB will significantly outscore the RTI of a stock rig.

Because the longer shocks are the limiting factor of the droop and the bumpstops are the limiting factor of the up travel, stock springs with a 2.5" spacer will have the same articulation as an aftermarket spring that is 2.5" longer.

I suppose I could prove this via an RTI of my JK with 2.5" TF BB and then replace the BB with 2.5" TF springs. If I am on the bumpstops on the passenger side, with my shocks fully extended on the driver's side, there can be no difference.

The springs would cost me about $300, not sure it is worth it. I could spend the $300 on a synthetic winch rope and safety thimble, or front/rear JKS adjustable trackbars, or adjustable front lower control arms, or several other items that would improve my performance more than springs to replace my BB spacers.

Although, I think that the picture below is proof enough. My friend is running a 2.5" OME kit with extended bumpstops, and I am running a 2.5" BB with stock front bumpstops. His articulation is limited by shorter shocks and extended front bumpstops It doesn't matter that he has longer springs.

I think we're saying the same thing. the 2.5"BB won't give you more articulation. I'm running the 2.5"BB w/ 2.5" front coilsprings for winch and bumper so it sits taller now

I mean from NO disconnects to disconnects

My point was that all other things being equal, a 2.5" taller coil spring and a stock spring with a 2.5" coil spacer on top of it will flex/RTI/articulate essentially the same.
Totally agree. I meant the articulation wouldn't be significantly different if at all from a factory suspension compared to spring spacers like the 2.5" BB I installed. Everything just sits higher from the spacers on the coil springs. I went with the BB w/shocks. I've had this kit installed since January '08 and am very happy with it. I think the price was right at the time. I might have gone with the coilspring lift but I think the BB w/ shocks was a little over $300 or something.

Either way the only thing I'd buy extra would be some spydertrax spacers.

I think that is going to be straight bad ass. Let us know how it turns out. I think youj will have a jeep that drives better than it does now.

Here is one relevant tidbit on your order. For the 2.5" lift you want TF Trackbar part number 1753418. Not 1753419.

The 1753419 is good for 4 inches and up.

Other than that you are gonna love it. I installed the TF coils and shocks with the 1753418 trackbar last Friday and Saturday and had it out wheelin on Monday. Simply excellent. Rolls down the highway at 80 smooth as glass and the off road performance is excellent. We went to a grade 5 trail and just had a great day.

I kept stock 32 inch rubicon tires. I did install 1.5" spacers behind the wheels to get the track a bit wider and eliminate any potential for rubbing.

When you recenter your steering wheel just do it with the sleeve on the trackbar alone. Takes 5 minutes and is as simple as it gets.

When I fit the rear trackbar relo bracket the crossbolt holes did not line up. All I did was bevel the inside edge of the frame bracket about 1/8th inch and the relo bracket lined up easy.

Enjoy

So if I keep the stock rubicon wheels and tires I still need the spacers?

Planman, just a quick question re: all of this stuff. I've personally gone your route myself and have a 2.5" TF budget coil lift + longer shocks and have flat flares, a 1" BL, and 37's in the garage awaiting install.

What I'm curious about though is your wife's rig. Why the modest lift and armor on your rig and yet a 6" long arm on your wife's for the same tire size? Is hers the second attempt and you guys tried something different?

Does hers perform better, worse, or about the same offroad (I know hers has a longer wheelbase which skews things a bit.

Cheers!
