Default 2.5 lift with or without Tracbar relocatation bracket

OK...I have done several searches and read more than a few threads but I can't seem to find a definative answer... If you have a 2.5" BB lift do you need a tracbar relocation bracket, adjustable track bar or nothing at all? The consensus appears to be "depends on if you can "stand" a 1/8" off center rear end. Now, if this bracket is "mandatory" why aren't they offered as part of the 2.5" kits? Second question, are these items "mandatory" on coil kits? If they are....why? Sorry for the newb sounding question, but this is really bugging me as I ponder kits to buy. bottom line is if they are "mandatory" then I will have to add that to the potential price; I definately want to avoid some of the ripped off OEM brackets that I have seen.
Just some background to qualify answers: My JK is my DD. Only occasionally go offroad tending more toward mud and trails than rocks. Thanks in advance for the help.

I believe if the bracket mounts to the FRAME, it's OK to use it. If it mounts to the axle, don't. Yall please feel free to tar and feather me if I'm wrong here.

my teraflex 2.5bb came with the bracket. I did not install it and the jeep rides fine, and appears perfectly aligned front to rear axel wise.

I did glean that from the other threads...that the ones attached to the Frame=good, to the axle=bad. My overarching question is when is the bracket or an adjustable trackbar needed? If the answer is yes, then why arent they included in some of the "better" kits? This may just be me complaining but the term budget boost takes on a new definition if I need to purchase an additional $50-70 bracket or $50-100 adj trackbar.... Just to add to the confusion...at what height do you need the same sort of set up for the front.

Teraflex does include a frame mounted rear track bar drop bracket in there BB kits now. Mine did not 2 years ago, and I didn't really mind. Standing directly behind my Jeep the right tire stuck out of the fender about a 1/4 more than it did on the left. So about an 1/2 displacement right, total. It drove fine the whole time I had my TF BB. Once I bought the drop bracket from them, I noticed the back end had a little less wobble than before. But it obviously wasn't that bad, I hand't noticed it until I upgraded.

As far as them being mandatory. It will definately center the body back over the axles, therefore privide a better center of balance (control). But from the slight axle displacement you recieve with a BB I feel that it is not required.

I, too, have spent lots of time reading posts and taking to experts (mainly Joe at TF and WOL)
I just ordered the full flex 3" TF. There is really no axle brace for the front Trackbar, the way to go is with an adjustable trackbar, which I ordered. For the rear, TF now includes the Trackbar
brace at the axle with the wrap around u bolt. So, for the rear I did not get an adjustable Trackbar. Did get a front driveshaft.
Lots of opinions and different ways to go.
Two weeks ago out on the trail a JK with a 4" lift and 35" tires broke the front axle trackbar just as we pulled back on the pavement.
Another guy had just gotten back his JK Rubicon with a complete new front axle after breaking his TB up front, he had 35" tires and the Chrysler 4" lift so it was covered by warrenty. He did have to "fight" for it when they said he had gone "airborn" and broke it.
He had to convince them "old guys" do not go airborn. He and his wife had a good laugh.

Most of the axle mount brackets out now have extra reinforcing and mounting provisions and do not rely on the factory mount alone. The ones that were failing in the past relied solely on the factory mount and worked as an extension of that mount. Most all of those have been changed to add additional support. No need to be afraid of all axle mount brackets any longer. As an example, the new Tera axle bracket is really nice. It bolts to the factory mount, to the shock mount and has a u-bolt around the axle tube.

Does anyone have a photo of that Teraflex trac bar adjustment bracket installed? I have one sitting in my garage waiting for me to put it in.

Mine came with my TF 2.5" BB and I haven't used it. Here's how the back end looks now:

If you can't tell by the pic the passenger side tire is about 1/4" further out than the driver's side.

I just ordered an adjustable JKS rear trackbar from Dave. I will post the improvement when gets here. (01/13)
