Default 2.5" Teraflex and break lines??

Hey Folks,

Quick question and then why I ask...

When installing your Teraflex 2.5" BB did you have to swing the break line extensions forward to keep the lines from rubbing against the suspension arm?

Why I ask...

I had a BB installed about a week ago and it took a few days for me to crawl under the jeep and check on the work that was done. once I did put my head under it I found a few things that were wrong!! For starters the morons just bypassed the bump stop extensions, I found them in the parts box. And the brake lines were rubbing on the suspension arm, unfortunately I didn't catch it in time and they are now nice and flat on one side. To solve the break line issue I loosened the extenders from the frame bolt and swung the whole thing forward a bit. I am curious if other have had to do the same thing.

Thanks in advance,

Big Mickey

I would check to make sure the brake line extensions are not flipped the wrong way. The bend should go under the frame. If the other way around it will rub.

Exactly. But, I have seen where the hard line connects to the soft line still rubs the swaybar a bit. This can happen because your axle has shifted a bit and the sway bar itself can sometimes move over with it. If this is the case, you can probably bend the bracket a bit more to clear everything

I had to bend mine just a little bit to keep them from rubbing. They didn't put your bump stop extensions on? Others here will know more but I think if they aren't there your suspension could go down too far and break something.

Does anyone know if this is the case or if it's just the rear that it can happen to?

The problem with running without bump stop extension is that you run the risk of over-compressing your coils (i.e. they get squashed down too much and don't come back to full height) at a full flex. For normal street use, you'd be fine but if you plan on wheeling your Jeep, you definitely want to get these on.

Wayof, thanks for clearing that up, I knew something negative could come of it, couldn't remember exactly what it was.
