Default 2" Lift

I have an 09 Unlimited Rubicon. I am new to this arena coming from a drift car background (so take it easy on me). I do understand the dynamics of suspensions and their workings.
I am on the hunt for a 2" lift (COIL and SHOCK) as that is all i really want at thsi point. My main concerns are that a lift keep all my new OE components in OE operating fashion. IE: no driveline issues, sway bar disconnect from in cabin still works fine, ESP functions properly and does not light up when not supposed to or vise versa...etc.
I guess to make a short story long....has anyone installed one of the following:

1- Mopar 2" lift #P5155207 #1,510.00
2- OME 2" lift #OMEJKU-H/H1 $750.00 (heard this installs more like a 3.5")

or, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks to any and all in advance!!

John

You could also consider the budget boost route unless lift coils are imperative to you for some reason. You would then be in the $150-$300 range

Any lift will have adverse affects. The higher you lift, the more work is needed to compensate. It just depends on how high you go, and what drive characteristics you're willing to live with.

The 3 1/2" you are seeing for OME lifts is due to people getting the heavy duty springs. Get the medium or light springs, and you won't see that much lift.

The "Mopar" 2 inch is a rebranded Rubicon Express lift. If you are not having the dealer do the install, don't pay the steep markup.

With only 2", no you do not 'need' adj trackbars, if you can live with the look of the axles being off-center. (or look into some relo brackets)

The Rubi auto-sway bar disconnect will still work. BUT, I would suggest you get longer rear links and move those stock rear links up front!!

Re-center the steering wheel after the lift, and you should not have problems with the ESP.

Take a look at the 6 different 2.5" kits that TeraFlex offers. 3 are a BB spacer and 3 are a 2.5" coil. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with.

Welcome to the forum!

As for your question about a 2" lift, you'll get a bunch of answers. But first off, try the Search. There are lots of threads about OME & MOPAR lifts.

For your Jeep: What are you planning to do with it? The reason I ask is that ideally you don't want to have to re-do your suspension down the road. Do you just want to run your stockers, plan on getting bigger tires, lots of offroad/no offroad, etc.

For personalized sales advice, contact David @ Northridge (see my sig). He's not an upseller - he'll be straight with you and on top of that his pricing is solid. Moreover he's an active part of the forum.

I have a Rubi Unlimited as well and run the OME and love the ride. People are getting 3"+ because they are using springs designed to support substantially more weight (from bumpers, winches, tire carriers, gear, etc). Remember that any lift is pretty much going to effect the OE. With the OME I'd rec new rear sway bar links so you can move your old rear ones to the front (and have no issues). Any ESP issues are usually related to recentering your steering wheel so that shouldn't be an issue; AEV Procal Makes this super easy BTW. In all honesty from everything I've read, I'd check out the OME or the Teraflex 2.5" coil. TF is a more complete off the shelf package (& also a great site supporter) but you can get Northridge to build you a comparable kit. I know you're saying only 2" but you may end up regret not having that extra room down the road.

Here's some links to read:

WOL's OME install thread & write-up link

Show me your OME thread. Some good pics and on page 1 there's a spreadsheet that shows the different springs (MD vs. HD)

OME and do I need anything else thread

another OME and do I need anything else thread

OME sway bar links and bumpstops?

OME in progess install & thoughts

Good luck! Keep reading/searching/asking questions.

I went with the OME. HD and MD springs so it was nice and level. JKS front and rear adjustable track bars, front and rear bumpstops and rear swarbar links. I can't get over the ride quality. It drives 10 times better than stock and I have not had one Stability issue yet. Had it on the freeway over the weekend doing 80 and no issues.
