2 Piece Wheels????
Does any one have experience and or knowledge about 2 piece wheels?
Besides being made of two pieces, what are the differences? Are they stronger or weaker? Proven offroad?
I found a set I am intersted in, Eagle Alloy Series 212. Its a polished rim with recessed lug nuts and is relatively light weight for its size.
I have had machined one piece wheels in the past; they took the rock rash well, not sure if the polished look will last on my jeep or not.

Opinions are like... never mind.
I know your point though. My wife told me the same thing last night. I guess those wheels are out, but I am still curious about 2 piece wheels and the differences. I sent a question to the manufacturer as well.
I don't know if it's the same deal or not. But when I used to race karts and then later a formula 500 in the SCCA we used two piece wheels. There was an inner and outer half and they either used a gasket or RTV to seal the two halves. The advantage was you could make any backspace / offset you needed by combining different sized wheel halfs. They'd never hold air for more than about 2 days which isn't a big deal in racing since we checked air pressure before each time out on the track.
It also makes tires easier to mount tires since you just insert each wheel half into each side of the tire. For racing this was important when you swapped tires out twice a weekend.
So if it's the same deal, I wouldn't recommend them for a street driven vehicle.
