Default 2007 power steering reservoir cap leaking

Need some advise as to where to look or what to do. I am losing power steering fluid out of my reservoir. It is wet around the cap and is pooling up on the air box ribs beside it. There is also splatter or a blow pattern on the hood. I know the cap does not seem like it locks in place when tightened but then I have no idea as to how they feel when you tighten them down so it may be right. The cap has the o ring on the neck of the cap and I do not see any cracks anywhere. So any ideas as to what to look for?

You're not over filling the reservoir? Maybe the fluid is getting too hot

You know you may just be right. I just went back out and looked at closer and I can see residue under the cap. With the power steering reservoir right there I just jump at it right away.
