Default 2008 shift knob removal

Does anyone k ow how to remove the stock shift knob wanting to replace it with a browning shift knob if possible

Assuming it's a 6 speed.
Shift into second, while not moving.

Pull until you poop

It will come off done it many times.

Try not to damage the lower portion of the knob if you have to use it again, it's really thin plastic.

I used a strap wrench. To refit, I used gorilla glue.

Wrap shaft just below knob with tape to protect it. Use adjustable wrench, placing its jaws around taped shaft just below knob. Cover knob with towel. Tap up gently on wrench with hammer. If you skip towel, rub sore spot where knob hit you in face. ;-)

Put it in second and while pulling it off, slightly twist it to the left and right. Mine Popped off quite easily

I replaced shift knob and the stock one came off super easy so I think it was replaced already but the aftermarket one didn't fit so for now the stock one is back on
