Default 2011 Rubicon?

I have 315/70/17 BFG AT tires and wanted to know when do you have to worry about your gearing? It has Dana 44's front and rear any input would be great.

Depends on what gears you have now, but Check out the sticky FAQ thread and there are some charts of what gears/tire/tranny combo's are 'acceptable'.

The gear chart is a great guide but it ultimately comes down to personal preference. And what kind of wheelin / driving you do.

You have 4.10 so u should still be fine just depends on how sluggish it feels as to whether or not u want to regear

Thanks for the info!! It seems fine around town and is OK on the highway. I have not really had a chance to do any wheeling yet just got the lift and tires on it.

I have 35's with my '11 Rubicon and stock gearing with a manual transmission. The 35's improved the around town handling. I usually started in 2nd because the gearing was too low in 1st. Now first is good and I don't have to shift so much.
On the highway performance sucks when you reach a hill or need to pass....even in 5th gear. I sometimes drop to 4th for bigger hills.
I haven't been able to do a lot of wheeling since upgrading the wheels and tires, but playing around on a steep hill and hitting some rough fire roads in Cleveland National Forest, the 4-LO performance was great.
Overall, you can get by just fine with stock gearing and 35's. I would like to go a tad lower though (4:56?).
