Default 2012 Hard top Leaking?

I have a 2012 jku.....a little over a month old....never removed the hard top or the freedom panaels and today it down poured while i was driving and water started coming in where the foward center latch is but only when i was breaking the momentum of the jeep casued the water to run foward and leak so i dont know if this is common or if i should bring it back to the dealer....also just moved to VA beach because of the navy and i have noticed ALOT of surface rust on the under carriage any suggestions for these issues?

This actually happened to me on my 2012 about two weeks ago. I was backing up though. I lifted and reseated the front leafs and it didn't happen again. But also I sold the hard top Tuesday so I know it wont ever happen again.

You might need to put some armor all on the seals from time to time.

x2, take the freedom panels off and reinstall them. That worked for me when my top leaked at that same location...

Congrats and welcome to the clubs:
The jeep club
The leaky top jeep club
The navy jeep club
The east coast jeep club
The east coast navy leaky top rusty jeep club

You can remove and reinstall your freedom panels to see if that stops the water, if not, you can take it to a dealer for warranty and they will monkey with the seals. You can take it to a dealer or detail shop and ask for protective under carriage coating. It will run you a couple hundo.
The issues you describe are not rare.

Yeah I have had the same problem with my 12, did the same thing. Lifted and made sure the rubber seal was not pinched or bent when I re-installed. All is good now.
