Default 2015 2dr Rubicon rear drive shaft change?

I have a 2 door 2015 Rubicon 3.6 auto with a Rubicon Express 2.5" coil spring lift. I ordered a rear CV Drive shaft from Rough Country and went to install it today and got a surprise, it doesn't fit. Rough Country only shows one part number 5072.1 for a rear 2 door JK 2012-2014. I called Rough Country and spoke to them before ordering to make sure this part number would work for my 2015 and they assured me it would or they offered to take it back at their expense. So I removed the factory drivehafts and pinion and t-case flanges, installed the new flanges and then attempted to install the new CV shaft. It's too long! With the Jeep sitting at ride height the distance between the two flanges is 23". The collapsed length of the new CV shaft is 23". So I could bolt it up but it would have no travel at all (not good). My questions are: 1. Did the 2015 Jeep get a different tranny than the 2014? 2. Even though Rough Country does not have different part numbers for 2 door JK'S with manual vs auto trannys, could it be Rough Country sent me the wrong part number? 3. It seems the easiest way out of my problem is to have a local drivehaft company cut this shaft down by 1.5" for $95...do you agree?

Seems like something is wrong. Talk to Rough Country and tell them what you have found. I wouldn't cut a brand new drive shaft to make it fit.

I would talk to RC about it. You lift didn't come with adjustable control arms did it?

I'm sure you know this, but you need adjustable rear control arms so you can rotate the pinion up. Once you do that, you'll want to cut and rotate your coil perches to fix the bow in the coils.

Lastly, I hope you did more than just torque the pinion nut down to some torque figure given to you. The nut determines pinion preload and the actual torque range to get it right is large. Proper method requires pulling the axle shafts and measuring preload before removing flange.
