All good points.
My $.02? I see soooo many ghetto wheels every day, and they just don't look right on a Jeep. (they look GHETTO!)
But if you like them....hey! Have at it, man

Lol, that's unfortunately the only thing I can picture. I see enough buicks and old Cadillacs, running around with 20-24's that I can't see anything else.

Make sure you spend more on your rims and tires, than the vehicle is worth, and put a big 20" sticker on the side.

I did look at the linked article, and they do look awesome, but I can't get the buick image out of my head.

There are two matching 2 dr JKs (Red & Black) here on the Southside of Pittsburgh that are ghetto'ed out. I will try and snap a picture. They always park on Carson St not far from my apartment.

They have 20" wheels at least with a tiny amount of rubber. Looks like a wagon to me. Ha ha. Oregon Trail anyone? I just don't think it looks right to see that much of the brake assembly and axle of the Jeep through the rim.

Now if it were an Escalade, Tahoe, Hummer ... etc ...

But on a Jeep?

Again, this is all about, "It's your Jeep" ... And there are certainly some unique individual customizations on this forum. But really, let's think about practicality here ...

All depends on what you're using it for/what look you want. If you like it, more power to ya!

I think I made some good points...

and I clearly made the point that I am not an know it all when I made the mistake on wheel sizes for the sahara...

I am not saying that 20's on 35's is unstoppable and that its better then 15's on 35's or any other combination... I am just trying to bring up some ideas that can show you that its not as pathetic as your all making it seem...

people are saying 20's are only good on 40's or above... with that logic then the jeeps should start with 13 inch wheels or something hahahaha

what it all comes down to is... to each their own...
if you dont like it then give some solid reasons why, or open someones eyes with some ideas that might show them they might want to try something else....

telling people that what they like is stupid or wack or whatever without giving any real reason why "ohh your a hummer wana be" is just lame...

If you dont want to respond to my points because you think they have no valor then fine... but dont tell me I am a know it all... I am clearly not and if your too lazy to prove your side of things thats not grounds to dismiss it as me being a know it all, its just you been lazy...

I agree with you on some of this... but he is not throwing 20 inch TIS spoke rims on low pro's... its still guna have 35's on it... which is more rubber around the rim then the stock setup for a sahara...

I understand the being jaded by seeing a bunch of hoopty's out there on massive rims with ruber band tires but were talking about 35 mud terrains there is going to be 7.5 inches of rubber on top of the rim and on the bottom of the rim...

Do you plan to wheel your Jeep? If so, then why spend all of that money to penalize yourself with a less than optimal wheel/tire combo? Small rims with more rubber to protect your rims when wheeling with low tire pressure (10-15 psi) are much better than larger rims (which isn't to say that a few don't successfully wheel the combo you're considering).

If you don't plan to wheel your Jeep, but you're going for "looks," then you've probably learned in this thread that most folks consider a Jeep to look proper, even if it's never used for more than mall crawling, when it has proper gear for rock crawling. I'd estimate that nine out of ten forum members would go with the 50% rule for appearance: Your wheel should be close to 50% of the size of your tire. And remember: A 35" tire is really about one to one-and-a-half inches smaller than a true 35"; the rim will be slightly larger than its stated size. So erring to the slightly smaller size is best: 17" tires on 35" wheels.

Bottom line: It's your Jeep. If you prefer the Hollywood look, go for it. But most folks on this forum are more interested in the rock crawler look and performance.
