Default 2dr vs. 4dr?

Ok prob a dumb question but I have a 2008 2 dr wrangle x with 2.5 terra flex level kit 32 x 12.5 17 wheels and tires steering stabilizer and brand new shocks... I bought this jeep in dec with some of this already done minus the shocks and stabilizer but my questions is my jeep rides rough as hell and i know its a jeep and that is the nature of the beast but i have never driven a stock 2 dr and have nothing to compare it too... I am mainly asking to make sure nothing is wrong with my rig rough ride or not I love my jeep and prob will never buy anything but a jeep again... But I drove a freind of mines 2010 stock 4 dr the other day and it rides like a Cadillac compared to mine and I know that it should because its longer wheel base an the 2dr have a really short wheel base but i just thought with all the upgrades mine would ride a little better than that?

Also forgot to mention this is my first jeep ever and I'm new to the jeep world i owned a stock fj cruiser prior to this so I'm used to the short wheel base but the fj did ride smoother but i still like my jeep better feels a lot more stable on and off road...

2 door rides a lot stiffer. Do you know if they are original shocks? Previous owner might have changed them with the lift.

It's the lift. It stiffing it up Hard springs. Mine stock was really smooth. I have a 4 inch lift and with the big knobby tires. It bounces and travels all over compared to stock

Default Lift Kit = Rough Ride

x2 on the lift. I have the 2010 JK Unlimited too. Stock, rode really smooth, especially with the stock tires. Once I put the lift on, it was a different Jeep. Have to keep a tight grip on it at all times. 35s + mud terrain tires made it rougher too. One thing that did seem to help was when I replaced all my steering components. The difference between stock and Currie was remarkable.

I also had a 2002 stock TJ with no lift and it rode smooth compared to what I have now. All that said... I would never go back. Beast rigs will never be tamed!

Let some air out of the tires?

My local tire shop likes to put my 35's up around 45psi, which is way too high.

good call on the tire psi... when I got my 35's the shop filled them to 45psi and it was beating me up on the road. I lowered them down to 30 and its much better.

Don't just lower you tire pressure without looking to see the load range of your tires. I have 35 " tires on mine and the tires are load range E . E load range is basically for one ton trucks and will support a little under 4,000 pounds , each tire . My whole jeep weights about 4 , 000 pounds . I run the tires at 32 PSI , and it rides like a caddy . If any higher than that , it's like I have steel discs for tires !

Run your tires at 30 PSI , and get rid of the rancho 9000's,,, they are crap!,, go old man emu,, or if you really want performance, step up to the Fox 2.0 reservoir's. Good luck!
