Default 2nd generation km2's

I'm mostly interested in if they get torn up bad on the rocks. I want something tuff that doesn't weigh a ton.

Unfortunately, you will need a tire with a thicker sidewall to be tough, which is going to add weight.

KM2's are great tires for on and offroad. You still have to watch out for SHARP rocks on the sidewalls, as they will puncture. But i'f you're smart, and have a good spotter, you'll be fine! I've run them on my Jeeps for the past 4 years both the Gen I's and Gen II's. Great Overall tire, and when aired down, they conform really well to the rocks!

I got confused about the whole 2nd gen thing. So now I understand km2's are 2nd generation km's and there isn't a 2nd generation km2's. I still appreciate the input on them. My BFg ko's are gettin tore the fuck up from rocks so I'm looking for something that won't. I was hoping for something that didn't weigh a ton but that might be asking for too much.

I have KM2' and they are trashed! Huge chucks are missing, and slits in the side wall... BUT... they perform fine. I crawl a lot of rocks and they love the rocks!

Alright so now I'm between Goodyear kevlars and toyo open country's. Anyone have any problems with the sidewall getting tore up on rocks with either of these two?

Goodyears have thin sidewalls. The Toyo's have thick sidewalls and are tough as nails, and the superior tire between the two
