3.21 gears in an auto
I just can't do another search or read any more!

I just bought a 2.5 coil lift with shocks for my 2008 2 door auto X and I have been looking for wheels. I just realized that I have 3.21 gears.
The more I read the more I get scared that if I put anything bigger on her I'm going to regret it without regearing.
I drive this baby almost 60 miles a day mostly highways. I'm not really concerned if I have some loss of power, but I don't want to have a lot of the issuses I have read about.
What is the largest tire size would you recommend for me to use until I win the lotto and can afford to regear?

Upon further inspection of the sheet I was reading.. you are correct. I just can't read! It does say I have the 3.73's! Sweet!
Do you think I could put 35's on there or am I pushing it? Would 35's fit with the lift I am getting?

BaltChief is correct....if you have an '08 with the Auto, you have 3.73's as they are standard with the auto...3.21's are standard with the 6-speed. I'd go with some 305/70r16's (33x12.50)
This is why I love this forum.. and live on it.. you guys rock
Thanks for the replies. I feel better knowing I don't have the 3.21's. I will probably just go with the 33's for now and dream big for the future!

Something to think about too. I am willing to bet on your X you got 30" tires....so the 33's and a 2 1/2 lift will raise you 4".....thats pretty good if you do mild wheeling.
Here is my baby with 33's...

You should double check that. All autos come with minimum 3.73's...if you got the tow package then it goes to 4.11's in the 07 models. You would hate life with 3.21's and an auto....I hate life and I have a 6 speed.

Better off double checking your window sticker or sending your VIN in to get a printout to verify.
-My 08 auto w/tow package has 3.73's. I 'believe' these are the standard auto/tow package gears for 08. The 4.xx may be an option, but are not standard.
Anyway, I'm running 295/75/16's and I rarely ever have the OD enabled. Nice for the long downhill stretches, but that's about it. If you aren't looking to regear at some point, stay with this size or smaller...

60 miles??? Yes, definitely 33's
35's really rob your mileage and are a lot less streetable than 33's. Much less you would have no choice but to regear with 35's. I had 35's with the auto and 4.10's, I hardly ever saw 4th gear
Not recommended for long drives.
