Default 3.8 snorkel

I've wanted a snorkel for the longest time but paying out 400 bucks for an aev snorkel is a lot on a budget. The eBay snorkels are all for a 3.8 and I have a 3.6. Has anyone bought one of these snorkels for there 3.6 and modified or ?? Ideas? 100 bucks seems better then 400 :(

I have no personal experience with the eBay knock off so I can't say how it will hold up. But I will share a picture of mine. Rugged ridge- paid less than $400 and it's great quality. It's designed to protect your motor from hydrolocking should you splash or drive thru deep water.. motors are expensive, protect your investment with something proven. My $0.02.

I bought a RR snorkel (off amazon) thinking it was the version for the 3.6 and found out during the install it was for the 3.8. We got it to fit easily and i haven't had any problems so far. At least that's my experience with snorkels.

x2 on getting a proper snorkel for such a valuable investment.

I have the RR XHD snorkel with the improved airbox and clamps for my 3.8. I've used it a few times and I'm very pleased with it. Sorry I don't have any action shots, but here's a few static ones.

The install is easy and the options with the high ram intake and the low intake make it very flexible.

No way would I trust my engine to some ebay knockoff just to save a few bucks. A buddy of mine had one and it never fit or sealed correctly. Bought AEV and it fit perfect.

The eBay knock off and AEV are identical. I've installed both and the only difference is the AEV stamp on the side. The $200+ you save on the eBay version can be used towards your next mod.

They have yet to copy the gen2. Gen2 is a better snorkel.

I want the RR cowl snorkel but didn't think it would work with windshield lights. Looks like you had to remove them when you installed the high ram intake correct?

Whatever man. My buddy had it and it sucked. But you go ahead and trust your engine to a piece of junk ebay part just to save a little money. Unless of course you just want the look. lol! Then by all means.

Guy on youtube replaced his chinese snorkel with the aev gen2 snorkel and he said the ebay was junk in comparison. Love my gen2. Stands up to branches nicely, has a better textured look and its American made! I will support you guys down south as much as possible!
