3.8 snorkel
I really didn't think about my main investment (the motor) I suppose getting the aev is my only choice, the RR snorkel is very very cool but with my light bad and windshield lights I can see it being a problem. Thank you guys sometimes it takes the forum to shake some sense into someone!!
My ebay one has been fine, taken many branches fit fine for me. I did have to impact the one bolt down, but no biggie. Also sealed everywhere with a sealant. No problems here and i saved a ton... Sure aev may be better, but to me its why do that when this one also does the job just as well.
I have had both the AEV and the cheap eBay snorkel side by side and there is absolutely no difference in design and fit. The AEV plastic seemed to be just slightly thicker. With both snorkels you should use silicone to fill the slight slight gap inside the air box and around where it enters the air box. I decided to get the eBay one and save $ . I've taken it in water as deep as the front bumper and my air filter was dry. Not really looking to test the limits but it's enough satisfaction for me.

Mine sealed up fine and I have been in a few mud holes . There's no way I was going to spend 400$ on a plastic snorkel when the ebay one will do the job. After 2 years there's no fading or cracking and it's taken a few tree hits
I own neither but I'll say in my opinion stuff like this often comes down to the craftsman, some people will follow the instructions and move on with their life and others are gonna take the time to make it right, file down bad edges, silicon sealing where it's makes sense, lots and lots you can do yourself to make something right. True quality of product? You get what you pay for. True results gained from product? You get what you put into it.

I have had the EBay snorkel for almost two years now. I have had the Jeep submerged up to the windshield wipers ( to test out the snorkel ) and many times hood deep. Like others have said you need to take the time to seal everything properly. I also added another weather strip gasket against the mating surface of the stock air cleaner box as this is a water entry point if submerged for any longer length of time. After I installed my snorkel I removed it in one piece from the Jeep, filled a trash can full of water and submerged it fully to check for leaks. Better to do this ahead of time before it's too late to realize you forgot to seal something.
