Right, I understand all that and have been through it before. I guess what I really need to be asking is; Is anyone running 3" lift with the stock control arms and how does it do? Any driveline vibes or death wobble? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure dhoffroad is right now and Rubimon was on his 2-door Rubicon but then upgraded to the Ultimate setup due to handling/wandering issues. With the new control arms in and everything dialed to where they need to be, all is good again

I was hoping someone was going to put one on so I could hear about it.. Does he post??

With that kind of clearance and articulation I will have to go to stubbies..!!

Did he have a total cost?? I know their asking $2300.00 for them.. + shocks and install going to cost.. A little bit more than I want to handle on my own..!!
Sorry, Greg is a great guy but not a sponsoring vendor here so he cannot post and understands that. As far as the kit itself goes, Rancho gave it to him to test out in Moab so he wouldn't be able to give you a price.

I am running the 3" Teraflex with stock arms and no problems. The axle is 1/2" offset to the driver's side, but that poses no problems. The steering is a little "darty," but I have gotten used to it. It (lifting) is definately something that can be done in stages.

Thanks, that's good to know. I've got a guy looking into the RE kit w/ no control arms. Then if I don't like it I can just add them.

OK, so you guys are against the Fabtech 3" lift. So what 3" lift will give the same ride quality on the street as the stock springs?

Of all the 3" lifts, which one retains the great JK Unlimited ride characteristics? I'll be doing 95% street driving. (Yes, my JK = poser)

I'll be going with a set of 35 x 12.5. Since I have 4.10 gears and a 6-speed, will I need to change the gears for street driving?

Thanks,

Congratulations on your X.

I went with the Black Diamond 3" lift kit -- it wasn't hard to do, but did take a little longer to finish than they had estimated (oh well, was taking my time).

Only complaint with the lift kit is the rear coils are a little weak for a oversized spare tire. I would have ordered the rear heavy duty coil (the one offered for the 4 door JK) if I did it again.

Happy trails.

Default Thank you WayOfLife!!!

Hello all

I am running a 3" Full Traction Ultimate.

I will admit that I have some adjustment issues, but thanks to WayOfLife (Eddie) and Full Traction, my problems are in the midst of being resolved.
"WayOfLife" has been extremely helpful and gone out of his way in this matter.
Eddie- My hat goes off to you and your site.

...Words of advise to all that are going to install- or have installed any kind of lift:
...Make sure you or the shop takes the time to do the job correctly.

Take it easy guys and gals

Sorry for the delay... They had a full traction budget boost with the hydro shocks on a 2 door X. I have a RE budget boost with monotube's on a 2 door Rubicon. We are currently experimenting with my JK. I just had the drop pitman arm installed and it was terrible. Hit the gas and the steering wheel would spin left, brake and it goes right. For kicks we then installed the FT front trackbar bracket and it calmed everyting back down. As far as the RE kit goes, let well enough be
