3" Lifts - sooo many options???
Really necessary? No. But, if you want to dial in your ride so that your axles are correctly positioned under your Jeep, your rear pinion angle is set as needed (if you have an aftermarket U-Joint style drive shaft) and make sure that your caster is set to the appropriate angle that it needs to be in order to prevent handling/wandering issues, then new adjustable control arms are the only way to accomplish this.
WOW.. WOW.. THAT'S ME RIGHT THERE..!!!
I was hoping someone was going to put one on so I could hear about it.. Does he post??
With that kind of clearance and articulation I will have to go to stubbies..!!
Did he have a total cost?? I know their asking $2300.00 for them.. + shocks and install going to cost.. A little bit more than I want to handle on my own..!!

I am running the 3" Teraflex with stock arms and no problems. The axle is 1/2" offset to the driver's side, but that poses no problems. The steering is a little "darty," but I have gotten used to it. It (lifting) is definately something that can be done in stages.
I just got my Unlimited X last week.
Of all the 3" lifts, which one retains the great JK Unlimited ride characteristics? I'll be doing 95% street driving. (Yes, my JK = poser)
I'll be going with a set of 35 x 12.5. Since I have 4.10 gears and a 6-speed, will I need to change the gears for street driving?
Thanks,
- Bill

I went with the Black Diamond 3" lift kit -- it wasn't hard to do, but did take a little longer to finish than they had estimated (oh well, was taking my time).
Only complaint with the lift kit is the rear coils are a little weak for a oversized spare tire. I would have ordered the rear heavy duty coil (the one offered for the 4 door JK) if I did it again.
Happy trails.
Hello all
I am running a 3" Full Traction Ultimate.
I will admit that I have some adjustment issues, but thanks to WayOfLife (Eddie) and Full Traction, my problems are in the midst of being resolved.
"WayOfLife" has been extremely helpful and gone out of his way in this matter.
Eddie- My hat goes off to you and your site.
...Words of advise to all that are going to install- or have installed any kind of lift:
...Make sure you or the shop takes the time to do the job correctly.
Take it easy guys and gals

Could you be more specific as to what all is on your JK and the one that you drove? I'm just curious to know if we were really comparing apples to apples and if maybe there were other components or settings that might have made the difference instead. Because, with just a 3" lift, I can tell you that a dropped pitman arm really isn't needed. Now, at 4"+, yeah, I think it would be.
