315/70 R17 on 2009 stock X
Hello. This is my first thread and my first time owning my very own jeep. I have a 2009 X and was wondering if I would be able to put some baja 315/70 R17 on my stock rims. If any other information is needed just let me know and I will try my best to find out for you. Very thing on the jeep is stock. Believe me I am try to change that. Thanks
I too run that size with 2.5" BB. If u like to run bfg allterrains, that is the stock hummer h2 tire size so u can usually find greats deals on low mileage takeoffs on craigslist and such. That's how I got mine. Bought outright they would run u around 200-230. I was able to get a whole set for $400
You may want to start here:

Browse the Wheels & Tires FAQ for info on
-running wider tires on the stock rims. (backspace and the need for spacers or aftermarket rims)
-what lift heights you might want for various tire heights.
Then check the Suspension FAQ for more info on the various types of lifts and the components.
Then check the Axles/Gears FAQ just because everyone thinks about re-gearing at some point.
Then look through this write-up:

(just because the pic is really cool, even if you decide not to do it yourself...)
And then you can even browse through the lift install write-ups, just because, well, we all like to get greasy and do things ourselves...

But for your original questions:
to run a 35x12.50 on stock rims, you will either need a lift, or chop your fenders (or go to flat fenders) for more room. And you will also need to run wheel spacers to push the tires further out. You'll still get some rubbing, but minor trimming should take care of it.
