Default 33's on stock rims?

Alright, I can't really find a definitive answer from searching. so if anyone knows if this will work, please tell. I don't mind the look of the 17inch rims that came on my X, I think they are the same as the saraha rims (upgrade or something). anywho, what size tires would fit these rims? im looking at 33's. so do they need to be 17X8? or can I go bigger? thanks. also, I will be getting a 2-3 inch lift prior to doing this, im just getting some ideas, and figure I don't really need to spend money on new rims quite yet.

for what you would spend on 33's to fit 17" wheels, you would be better off dropping down to a 16" wheel and getting 35's
just my opinion of course

I don't have a specific answer for you, but the search should turn up a ton on this.

I think some guys have gone as big at 12.5 wide.

Also, the Sahara's are an 18-inch rim, so not the same - 18's just limit your options and raise the cost a lot. Lol!

Max. width is 275. With 285 it will rub.

If you want no problem with your stock wheels, and no lift:

BFG KM2 255 80 R17 (33")

Did 285s with 1" Spidertrax spacers. No rub.

I have 37x12.5x16 on a 16X8 rim w/ no probs on or off road. Lots of people are running wider tires than are reccomended on rims.

Disclaimer: I do not reccomend tires on wheels smaller than the tire mfg. lists as acceptable.
