Are 33's too much for 3.73s on a 2012?

2012 JKU Sport same exact options 3.73 Max Towing Auto Tranny but mines stock right now

1. Stock these are 3.21's

2. Stock tires are 32's

You will just fine heck 35's and chancing 37's I would do in a heart beat

People without the 3.6 don't understand unless they spent some time on a decent test drive or own the new 12's that these 3.6's are the saving grace to the wrangler

I did some serious mountain trials the other day 16 to 20 mile dirt road 7% inclines and descents much of the way with just enough room for one vehicle and you would have sworn I had a high power v8 in the jeep

Unfreaking believable it was awesome

This past trip has given me such a new respect to my jeep

I've never felt so comfortable at ease before. My butt puckered when we were on this one paved mountain road when we saw the sign "pavement ends here" no cell phone signal no gps starting to snow fairly decent and man my jeep did awesome and it's stock. Well for right now it is.

I put 35"Toyo MT on 20" wheels on my 2012 rubi with 3.73s and auto. This is a very heavy set up but The jeep has more than enough power to turn them. You can obviously tell a difference over stock but it is not sluggish at all. Acceleration is still there for on ramps and passing. The only thing I will do is program the shift points because it does search for the right gear at certain speeds but that is normal when changing tire size without reprogramming an auto...I won't be regearing.

I was really surprised with only a 2 inch lift and minor trimming of front air dam.

So I guess I won't sweat 33's :P.. Do you think you would have had to trim the front air dam if you had only put 33's on? With the 2" lift of course.

You probably wouldn't have to do any trimming of airdam but might have to run wheel spacers

I test drove a 2012 with 35s at the dealer, it has 3.21 gears, I was super impressed. I purchased a 12 with 3.21 and will be putting the 35 s I had on my 2008 on this week and will update. I would imagine the 35 on 3.73 would be plenty gear and power!!!

There is basically little difference between the automatics and manuals on the 2012s. The new 5 speed auto has nearly the same OD gear as the previous models while the manual OD gear has some juice pulled out of it.
