Sorry I can't help you either. I don't commute so I haven't bothered to check the mileage. Powerwise I thought it was going to be worse but it's really quite reasonable. I have 3.73 gears now and i'm not in any rush to put new gears in until boat season when I have to tow my boat.

gerryc, what is that performance chip you added? Do you like it?

Default Chip...

I have the Jet stage 1. I am not sure it does a darn thing. It may... but it's not huge. Was thinking about upping the chip after regearing.

Yeah I know where Oshawa is, I have family in Cobourg.
Do you do much off-roading around there? I go to manitoulin and there are some great areas there,...say have you been to "just jeeps" in TO?
I am wondering if they have any parts in stock for the JK, such as bumpers etc.

I have looked at new wheels as opossed to the wheel spacers but would consider the stock wheels if they dont rub with 34's.
I don't think anyone makes a 285/75/17. They do make a 285/70/17 which is a 33" tire and 11.5" wide. I have a 305/70/17 which is a 34" tire and is 12.2" wide. I had to change rims (or use wheel spacers) so the larger 34" tire wouldn't rub. If your stock X rims are similar to the rubicon moab rim then a 11.5" tire will rub a little. In my opinion any rub is too much so would change rims., but thats me.....

I'm running 35" x 12.5" Pro-Comp ATs using stock 16" rims on a 3" TF lift.
I had to add spacers (legal here in Arizona, might not be where you are?). Even had to add a spacer to the spare to handle the full size spare.

So try without the spacers and check it out carefully. If you need them add them after.

Personally I like the wider stance and the turning radius is uneffected. My tires stick out maybe a 1/2" from the well covers and to me look just fine.
