35" tires with stock rear spare carrier??
Hi ,I just ordered 35" tires 35x12.50x17 ( will have the wheels and tires next week) and was wondering
for you that have this same set up, do you carry that size wheel on your stock rear spare tire carrier? I never owned this big of a tire and not sure.
Does it block the rear brake light?
Did you upgrade to an aftermarket carrier?
Any thoughts would be helpful. If you did go the aftermarket route, can you also post a link to where you bought yours?

You can mount the 35 on the stock carrier, it will clear the brake light, however, not recommended for extended periods. Your new tire/wheel combo will be heavy and put added stress onto the tailgate which can cause failures later on. I would recommend and aftermarket tire carrier if you can spend the cash on one.
Do a search and you will find several threads concerning tire carriers and about the failures of the stock ones.

been doing some searching now (prob should of done that first before i posted this question, but oh well, sorry.)
overall seems like it isn't a good idea to ride the 35" tires on the stock carrier.
guess ill google aftermarket rear tire carrier and start saving!
