Question 35 upgrade - trim rubi rails?

Ive seen a few posts stating that with 35s + BB that trimming the rubi stock sliders is needed.

Is that the general consensus or just a few exceptions?

If trimmed... the front, the rear, both? How Much? I'd rather have them outa the way and ready before the tires go on... if in fact even needed...

thx!

I cut about 2" off the back of my sliders. Rear tires are the only ones that need more room

As the wheel/tire stuffs, it moves back in the wheel well. So, no you do not need to trim.

That's based on BFG AT 315/70/17 and MT MTZ 315/75/16...both with TF 2.5 BB on an unlimited JK with Mopar Enchanced Rock Rails.

If you go 37"s, you have a lot more to deal with.

For me, when I ran the TF2.5 BB, 35 inch Procomp Mud Extremes, 99% of the time I didn't rub at all.....But there will be the odd time when you can still rub the rock rail, more specifcally when in a serious off camber flex when there is allot of force on the rear axle......but for the most part, I wouldn't worry about it.... easy enough mod to do whenever you want.....

here's a pic when I rubbed the rock rail, but only because most of the weight of the Jk was on front passenger tire and the rear drivers tire.....the drivers rear rubbed, but no damage
