Jeeps are looking good!

I have seen pictures of jeeps with 12.5 width, 4.5inch BS, and 9 inch rims look like they are pretty darn close with the stock fender and other times I see pictures where they look like they stick out much more. Definitely confusing to me!

If someone can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that 12.5inch wide trail grapplers will just be the slightest bit under my fenders (xenons with extra 1.5 inches) and will pass inspection I would stick with my order. Just seems like it is too close to tell sadly.

I wouldn't see why they wouldn't cover those, but I can't say 100%. Heck you can always just rig up some of that rubber garden gaurd to the fenders to make them pass inspection!

Keep in mind that the tread is 12.5", the sidewall width will be greater. I think that makes sense??
Just checked it out. I think the tread would be covered, but if you were to take a straight edge down from the fender, the sidewall would definitely stick out. That said, with 4.5" of BS, I think it still will even with the smaller tire you referenced. Visually, I don't think it would be bad and you could run the 35".

The 4.5" of BS is already setting you out ~2" further. Even with stock tires, it would be close. Given all the people in PA that run larger tires (and without wider flares), I think you may be way over-thinking the issue.

I vote 35's!! Better yet, 37's and then the tire will appear visually more narrow. Haha

I run 35x12.5 with a 4.5 backspace and the bushwackers that i run are half an inch wider than stock and the tires still stick out a solid inch. I have never been pulled over for it and even when I was pulled over by a trooper he didn't say anything about it and MA Is very strict about the vehicle.

I am not thrilled about it but I just don't want to deal with the hassle of cops and inspection in this state. My jeep is my DD so maybe it isn't a terrible idea... Either way I will be posting pictures so if anyone ever is in the same boat as me they will have definitive proof one way or another!

Thanks all for your insight on this topic. I'll be fixing my order in 4 hours so if anyone has any additional thoughts before then please post away! haha
I'd hate to see a guy go with less than 35 and kick himself for bc the man kept putting him down. Mine stick out no more than an inch and a half

Thanks for all the info guys! I would definitely rock fenderless if the popo in my area had better things to do than bust everyone's balls... but I digress.

The jeeps are looking great but just to let everyone know I did decide to go down to a smaller tire. And even as someone mentioned in this thread it will still probably be close and might not be my desired "under the fender" goal. With that being said. What I can do is post detailed pictures on this thread once the setup gets here so that for anyone else that is interested they can learn from my tire experience! And if I find the wheels are too small I can also go rip em up somewhere lol

Thank you everyone for your help with this. I know I kind of had extenuating circumstances with my wide fenders and all but hopefully someone out there will get some value from this thread so it won't be a total waste of space!
