35's or 37's ?
37's, axle armor, regear to 5.13... done!
Or, you can do what a lot of us did: initially go with 35's and gussets, then spend the next year or two dreaming about 37s. At some point, you're going to convince yourself that you really want them and that the 35s just aren't cutting it. You'll end up selling your 35s to pay for half of the new 37s and regear.
Either way, since this is already a question you're wrestling with, you'll eventually end up on 37s....... bet?

But... I have a different perspective than most. While I too went through multiple lifts and whatnot, I'd have been smart to have stuck with the first one... a BB and 35s, then gone and spent my money on a buggy vs trying to get the JK there (thus throwing a ton more cash into it than necessary). My reasoning is simple... 37+ makes way too many trails way too easy and you will severely limit where you can have fun.
OP: sincere recommendation... stick with the 35s. You'll be able to do 90+% of the trails out there and will have much more fun than if you build it bigger.
And I agree with this. But, opinions are like assholes.... we all have one.
For street use on 37s, yes no gussets will be fine for a little while. I wouldn't wheel without though. Cheap insurance. I think TF uppers cost me about $130 including getting them burned on at BaerTrax.
If you want 37s get 37s or youll regret it. You will be fine with what you got just be smart about it and get ready to replace stuff as it goes to something better.
Do c gussets and gears depeding on your engine, maybe sleeves and a better steering pump . Just watch your axle shafts with the big rubber. It really all depends on what you do with your rig and how you drive it on road and off
I just put 40s on my 2 dr rig

Just bear in mind that a skilled pilot in a two door JK on 35's and an LCG setup with the right armor and beadlocks will drive circles around a web wheeler on 40's. You don't get to be a skilled pilot by going straight to 40's and lockers....small tires and open diffs will teach you a LOT about where you can get traction, how much you can let it all hang out when off camber, and (most importantly) line selection. I'm a better driver because of the time I spent wheeling my rig at stock height and 32's.
