Why 18 inch wheels? Your jeep will look like something out of a rap video.

Actually they don't look that bad...but having a bigger tire will definitely look better

Plus, I wanted 15 or 16" rims but someone on here told me they would run my calipers.

I run 15" wheels no problem, but it depends on the manufacturer. I am running 33s right now but am considering going up to 35s on my next set. I have the same setup as you as far as gearing, transmission, and engine. I do have a superchips flashpaq, which made a huge difference in shift patterns. I'll probably drive it like that at first and decide after if I need to regear. Not too many hills wear I live so I hope to get by. My advice, get a flashpaq or something similar before you spend all the money on regearing, especially if cost is a concern. Just my $0.02. I'm sure you'll get a lot of mixed opinions...

Not true. There are multiple threads that talk about what 15" wheels will fit.

And I plan on running 35's on 15" wheels as soon as I can sell my 33's.

I have the 3.6L and 3.21's with an auto though.

I'm really not too concerned as the wheel and tire combo in a 15"/35" will weigh about the same as the 17"/33" combo I have now. I know the tire is larger in diameter and will have a wider footprint but I don't see it being too much worse for me. I also don't really go off road much and I live in a generally flat area.

With 15's, you need a low enough backspace to get the wheels out past the brakes. For future upgrades to beefier steering components or big brake kits, 15's and 16's might have clearance issues. Just depends on what you want to go to. 17's are are a fairly safe bet, and generally have lower tire prices and a better selection than 18's or bigger.

What back spacing should I be looking for for rims if I were to switch to 15" or 16" rims. I do want a 35" tire and I love the look of more tire instead of more rims
