I'm not getting that with my 35's, although I only had the stock tires on for about 1 hour before I changed them over to the modded tires. Still it shouldn't do that.

I've had a 35 on a steelie on the tailgate and after about 4 months, I don't have that problem you describe. Have you checked the hinges and seen what is causing the bind?

I feel stupid. Sometimes I post too quick! I went back out and what seems like sag is the tire coming into contact with the bumper and thus preventing me from closing it easily... Sorry THREAD CLOSED...lol

Close the door with the tire not the handle. That way the pressure on the bumper isn't stressing the tailgate/mount. My bumper flexes just enough when I close it to take some weight off the hinges.

Good tip, I will definately close it with the tire, not the handle as I have been doing....

My 35x12.50 doesnt touch the bumper at all, probably because I have a 1.5" spacer on it. I wonder if I could ditch the spacer and just put up with a snug fit?

Why not just put a 1" spacer behind the wheel? Maybe even a 1/2" aluminum plate is all that is needed.
