Default 37"s rubbing on frame, passenger side only.

Hey all,

Finally got my lift in last month. Teraflex 4" LCG with Elka's and Speedbumps. Did the install with a few of my friends. I noticed the paint was missing on my passenger side framerail the other day. I am having some rub issues when turning full lock to the passenger side and stuffing the tire a bit. So far I haven't noticed anything rubbing on the drivers side. Running Pitbull Rocker Radials in 37x12.5R17's on AEV Pintler Beadlocks and Spydertracks 1.5" spacers all around. Is there an easy fix for this? Common problem?? I thought I'd be ok with my setup but maybe my backspacing didn't work out right?

Adjust out your steering stop screw a couple turns. Depending how far you need to back this screw out might require you to get a longer screw.

Sorry, I should have specified this is in the front only. Yes pinch seam has been trimmed in the rear.

Just thought I should ask since it does get missed from time to time. But yes, adjusting your steering stops a bit may help.

Good Luck

It is a screw on the backside of the steering knuckle, inboard and to the rear on the knuckle. It will just look like a screw that does not bolt anything up but at full stearing lock the head of the bolt will come in contact with the axle.

This needs to be adjusted anytime you increase tire size.

Had the same problem and found it had to do with the guys that installed the lift. Bought my Jeep used with the lift already installed. Found that the adjustable front TrackBar was adjust for an easy install (they adjusted the trackbar out to axle mount location instead of moving the body over). When you disconnect the trackbar and lift the jeep the body/frame gets offset from the axle, mine was off by about 1.5" which was fine until I had the front end aligned correctly and larger tires and then started to rub.

What I did was measure from the outside of the tire to the edge of the fender on both sides. One side was even with a tire and the other was inset about an 1.5", (ruff numbers). I was able to get correct starting measurements from the Lift MFG and re adjusted my trackbar length. Got a couple buddies to push on the body of the jeep to move it until it I was able to put the bolt back into the axle and trackbar. Then I measured again and was good to go.

Now I use other ways to line up the bolt, turning the steering wheel etc. it's much better than trying to push everything to line up. Have also used a com-along when doing it by my self. I am sure others will have better methods to do this.
