37's on 09' Rubicon Unlimited
Fella's,
09' unlimited Rubicon, 6 speed manual and I want 37's. Its gonna be a daily driver and I want to put 37's on it rather than 35's with a 4in teraflex suspension lift. D44 front and rear with 4:1 ratio. Can it handle the 37's for a year or two before I upgrade the axles and start to off road extensively?
First time jeep owner, picking her up tomorrow!
Thanks for the help!

Yes it'll hold up just fine with that combo. If you drive on the highway much, within a few days you'll give heavy consideration to regearing to 5.13s. But technically the simple answer for you is yes that combo sounds fine as is.
Good to know, im learning as I go, a ton to learn too! I eventually want to gear it but the funds are low and the debts are high so to speak, I want to get this done asap so I can sell my stock tires and wheels with no wear or tear on them. Any ideas on what they can go for with about 100-500 miles on them?
Thanks for the help guys,
Andrew

Even if you don't do any other axle upgrades, (shafts, sleeves, truss) you might consider adding gussets to the C's. Very cheap for that bit of extra insurance for 37's.
I am planning on buying a bumper that can carry a 37' spare. Fab Four? any other brands? I am a complete newbie and have to swallow my pride! Any other necessary mods that I will need to make to carry 37's? I know that i technically can, but I want to do it right.

They had 3000 miles on them. I didn't care much about waiting. I was more focused on getting them sold. You could probably get $350-$450 if you are willing to wait.BTW. I roll 37'' with a 4 inch lift with stock gears for a while. Eventually you are willing to do whatever to get the new gears on the jeep because of power and the risk of ruining our clutch. If you are a manual, the stress on the engine isn't as great, but the loss of power is much greater.
Sell something to pay for the $1200 gear switch, it'll be worth it in the long run.

I have a 2009 Rubi with 37" MTR's, 17" Mickey Thompson Classic Locks with 4.5 inches of backspacing and a 3.5 Rubicon express lift. I had to take the Rock Rails off to cut them back about 2 inches and to hack the body to allow clearance. I STILL RUB IN THE BACK, and until I can afford some Xenon flares and bumpers I am going to get some longer bump stops. The spare will fit on the stock carrier with 4 thick washers on the lugs. It hits the bumper but it's on there. It is a lot of weight for the tailgate so don't plan on keeping it on there when I am local. I am needing gears bad. That is my next upgrade. Go for it because it looks awesome with 37" tires.
