Found this on another forum so I'm not sure of the absolute accuracy. I have the 37x12.5R17 GY MT/R w/Kevlar and they "feel" about 100 lbs mounted with wheel.

37x12.50x17 tire weights (a few of these are 13.50)

BFG KM2 - 71.6#
Yokohama Geolander M/T -71.6#
Goodyear MT/R w/ Kevlar - 76#
Interco TrXus M/T - 78#
Interco Irok Radial - 81#
Mickey Thompson MTZ - 83#
Pro Comp M/T - 84.4#
Toyo Open Country M/T - 92.6#
Cooper Discoverer STT - 83#
Nitto Mud Grappler - 92.8#

Thanx man. It looks like some of the 37s may be lighter than my toyos.

So I guess the question is, what kind of tires is the OP wanting to run?

I was thinking of going with the Nitto Trail Grappler.... ALthough it is a heavier tire... I think 35's weigh in the range of 81 lbs..... ugh...

Your in the same boat I am. Some of those 37s are lighter. But it's ultimately what you want. Trail grapplers look awesome and I have read good things about them.

If I only found this forum BEFORE I bought my first Jeep, I would have known better... Thanks in advance for any help you can give me with this.... oh yeah, this is also my daily driver...
What do you want 37" tires for? Obviously it takes more power, fuel etc. to push the bigger wheels so is it about looks, clearance or what. Seems like this is only something you can answer.

This goes back to weight too though. This is my point exactly. A heavier 35 is easier to turn on start and stops in size of roatation buuuuut in some 35s they can weigh 15 lbs more than a 37 inch tire. That tire weight for 10 lbs more in each tire is 100 lbs essentially added to Jeep weight. So that weight burns fuel..... you could possibly choose a light 37 that would give you less weight than your 35s. Best option is choose the lightest 35 obviously to get more power and less weight. 37 in a BFG is 4 lbs lighter than a 35 so really adding 160 lbs to your jeep if you want to look at like that.... thats if you compare those two tires.....

I agree. 37 will be harder on start and stops down the road because of diameter but I think overall weight causes the d30 damage that people worry about.

If you go with a "larger number offset wheels" you will move the wheel closer to the frame and create major rub.

You did not say what type of wheeling you do mall crawling, rock crawling, mud pits, FS roads??? These are factors that should be considered when deciding tires.
There are a lot of post that say 37's fill an unlimited better. The unlimited and 2dr have the exact same size wheel openings, just 2 doors different. There are 35's that will out perform 37's any day for traction.

Also keep in mind, any time you mod your rig you will find the next weakest link, in your case the D30 will most likely be it.

If you are worried about the extra 1" belly clearance consider a 3.5" lift or go with the 2.5 and 1" spring spacers or a 1" BL. You will be happier wheeling with 35 that you will having your 37's on a tow truck.

Just my 2 cents.
Remember with free advise you get what you pay for... opinions.
All the talk about weight... anytime you increase your wheel diameter your are reducing your brakes ability for stopping. The larger diameter tire has more leverage than what the factory designed. Larger rotors and brakes are something you may want to consider with 37's if this if a DD.
