You have a Dana 30 front and a Dana 44 rear. 35's should be ok, but i'd still be a little easy on the skinny pedal with 35's on that Dana 30.

what if i put 4.88 on the front? Or is there anything i can do to help prevent damage?

4.88's are going to do nothing for the strength of the axle itself. This is just the ratio of the ring and pinion to put your motor back into the powerband it came from the factory with. Some will argue that the lower you go in the ring and pinion gearing(higher number) the weaker it becomes also because of less tooth contact.

You can put in alloy shafts, and stronger U-joints, but then the weak point becomes the ring and pinion... not exactly the cheapest/easiest fix if it breaks. You would want your weak point to be in the U-joints, easiest/cheapest fix.

Still 35's would be max for the Dana 30 front

Yeah... Piginajeep and tev are right. I looked over the thread I Pasted and the axle failed when on pavement.
Disregard my previous post...I'm an idiot, I thought I was on to something...
